Child Development Center Awarded LEED® Silver by US Green Building Council

Sherrick Construction has been awarded LEED Silver for the new Child Development Center project located at Naval Support Activity Midsouth in Millington, TN. This project was part of a multi-building contract with the United States Navy which included a renovation to the NCIS administration offices, a renovation for the Navy Band (also on track to achieve LEED Silver), and demolition of more than 48,000 square foot building on the base.
The design-build project was collaboration between Archimania, SSR Ellers, Flintco, and Sherrick Construction. The building was opened for operation in October, 2011 and now becomes the first building on the Naval Base to achieve a LEED Accreditation. We will strive to continue our sustainable design and construction practices and meet our goals in 2012.
The New Face for Sherrick
January 3, 20122012 brought along a flux of new projects set for the new year and new face for Sherrick. Sherrick recently launched a brand new website not only to convey our company services, but to function as a tool for our dedicated subcontractors. Now we offer access to many of our tools through our website for everyday use. With the new website, Sherrick released a new logo that is soon to be recognized.
At Sherrick, we are excited about the growing year to come and all the new opportunities that await us. We know it's going to be the best year yet.
Sherrick Awarded New Task Orders

Sherrick Construction has been awarded two task order projects for the TN Air National Guard, 118th Airlift Wing located in Nashville TN. The base has been a long time client for Sherrick Construction and the relation continues to grow through the MATOC it holds with federal government.
The projects consists of upgrades to the base. The electric hoist pictured to the right is used for mechanical operations of aircraft engines. The maintenance personnel depend on these hoists to carry out the functions of day to day operations. Sherrick Construction will supply and install a new 2 ton hoist system for their shop. Other upgrades to the base include 27 new removable bollards with storage racks to enforce base security. These contracts awarded will be under way in October 2011 and schedule to be completed by Jan 2012.
Sherrick Construction was also recently awarded the VTS Catoosa Range Operation and Storage Building located in Catoosa, GA. This task order includes the construction of a new masonry building to meet the government's functions on base. This will be the second project Sherrick has been awarded in Catoosa, GA from the federal government. This project is projected to start in October 2011 and be completed by March 2012.
