Project Description:

The scope of this project is very complex involving everything from new construction, demolition, and an array of anti-terrorist measures to include VAB (wedge barriers) and force protection.  This project is to construct a brand new main security gate for the Rickenbacker Air National Guard in Columbus, Ohio. Sherrick mobilized in late November after some design changes and obtaining our Ohio EPA permit, Sherrick broke ground in the middle of December 2011.  Sherrick has achieved LEED Silver on two other completed projects, and this one is slated for LEED certification also.  While working closely with Smith & Wesson Security Solution Sherrick understands the complexity of a project of this magnitude.  This is the main entrance to the base and until complete Sherrick must maintain strict traffic control measures to ensure  security is not compromised.  Once complete the OANG at Rickenbacker will have a brand new entrance with the latest in anti-terrorist measures.  This includes multiple bollards, VAB, security monitoring, over 1800 LF of new military grade chain link fence with gates, 3 new state of the art guard booths, and truck inspection canopy equipped with x-ray detection.  Sherrick will be installing over 70,000SF of heavy duty asphalt paving, concrete, curbs, and all new underground storm sewers and over 3400LF of fiber-optics encased duct banks.   More updates to follow as the project progresses.
