Project Description:

The scope of this project also included renovations of Building 780 to accommodate the Navy Band (approximately 12,959 square feet) which also considers factors related to energy conservation, lowering operating costs, and site selection to obtain LEED Silver. Based on a whole Building energy simulation model, the energy savings amount to 32% for the newly renovated building. The Navy Band Building design/build contract required to provide an acoustical engineer familiar with band performance and rehearsal room design. The project also included covered drop off, instrument storage lockers, a recording control booth, main rehearsal room, offices, individual practice rooms, and seismic upgrades to the structure and roof as well.
