Project Description:

Sherrick / Woolpert was contracted to design and build a 63-kilowatt (kW) maximum peak electrical production, photovoltaic (PV) array at Camp Perry, an Ohio Air National Guard Base. Phase 3, Camp Perry expanded upon the renewable energy projects started in Phases 1 and 2 to provide alternative electric power for the existing facilities. This project involved expanding on the 136-kW PV array currently underway, by an additional 63-kW capacity.
Sherrick / Woolpert is the Prime Contract holder, this project was funded through an Ohio Air National Guard MATOC IDIQ Design Build Task Order, Sherrick / Woolpert was responsible for Design and Construction to provide a complete and usable system including all permitting, site work and preparation, foundations, framing, PV solar panels, electric distribution system, and upgrades to the existing structure. This included the inverters, transformers, and distribution system monitoring equipment as needed to expand the existing system and tie into the base’s high voltage electric distribution system and energy management system (EMS). Sherrick / Woolpert coordinated with Ohio Edison and the government to ensure that an interconnection agreement was established prior to completing construction of the PV array.
